The Red Beach Surf Life Saving Club has been a cornerstone of the community for over 70 years. While the club’s main goal is to provide lifeguarding services at Red Beach and Pakiri Beach, surf sports are a big part of the equation.

To enter competitions, participants are required to be active lifeguards, meaning surf sports help to keep everyone fit, committed, and engaged, which benefits the community and helps the club to retain members.

Recognizing the importance of their senior sports program, the club applied to Bobby for funding to buy new surf skis. The senior committee saw this funding as crucial to help members focus on training, competing, and community engagement, without the stress of financial constraints.

Angela Moore, the Club Administrator, shared, “Fundraising for essential equipment places an extra burden on club members, who already dedicate significant time and effort to their training and competitive activities. The process of securing funds can be time-consuming and challenging, diverting attention from other important activities.”

Bobby was pleased to approve over $9,000, which has enabled the club to purchase three new surf skis. Our support helps their athletes to maintain a competitive edge.

Angela shared her thoughts on the importance of this purchase: "Surf skis are not just equipment; they are vital tools that enhance our athletes' skills, promote fitness, and play a crucial role in recruiting and retaining junior and youth members."

The Bobby Foundation is proud to support community sports and improve the odds for everyone.
