The Foxton Rugby Club has celebrated a major milestone, thanks to support from the Bobby Foundation. With a grant of $5k, this multi-sport club was able to provide brand new uniforms for their junior and senior netball teams, as well as several senior rugby teams. This means every player, from the youngest juniors to the seasoned seniors, now proudly wears the same colours - strengthening the sense of unity and pride across the club.

The impact of this funding goes well beyond the new kit. Chairman Nick McVeigh told us, “With this financial support, we’ve been able to invest more in our junior programmes, helping to grow the next generation of players and foster a strong rugby culture in our community. The funding has provided much-needed financial breathing room, allowing us to focus on long-term planning and club development rather than short-term fundraising pressures.”

The visibility of the grant support also sparked renewed interest from the wider Foxton community, leading to more volunteers and new local partnerships. Club morale is at an all-time high, and the improved facilities and programmes are attracting new members - helping the club grow both on and off the field.

Nick said, “We are incredibly grateful for the support, which has not only helped us meet immediate needs but also strengthened our foundation for future success. The positive ripple effects of this grant will be felt for years to come. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Bobby Foundation for their generous support through the grants process. This funding has had a significant and lasting impact on our club, both in expected and unexpected ways.”
