Wakatipu Artistic Swimming (WAS), a small, but passionate club based in Queenstown, recently received a boost from Bobby, with the approval of $5k towards accommodation expenses. This support enabled the team to participate in the 2024 NZ Artistic Swimming National Championships, which were held in Hamilton.

The Artistic Swimming National Championships is one of only two major events for artistic swimming in the country. National competition not only provides an opportunity for the athletes to showcase their skills, but also allows them to connect with the broader artistic swimming community.

All their hard work paid off, as the team earned silver medals for both an Aquanauts combo and a duet, marking a significant achievement for the club.

"We are incredibly proud of our athletes' achievements," said Cassandra Dayman, the Club Secretary. "Earning silver medals in both categories is a testament to their dedication and hard work."

This experience has not only boosted their confidence, but also brought them closer together as a club. WAS is excited about the future and is more determined than ever to keep growing and achieving great things in the world of artistic swimming.

We have no doubt that their achievements in the pool will help to raise the profile of this growing sport.

The Bobby Foundation is proud to support community sports and improve the odds for everyone.
