Ready. Set. Go!

Bobby was proud to approve $50k towards the project to resurface the AUT Millennium athletics track.

Home to the North Harbour Athletics Club, the track also hosts daily training for over 400 athletes across 15 sports codes and numerous events such as the Special Olympics. The track and infield are a vital component in the mix of facilities provided for sporting organisations across all levels in the Auckland region. It is also the most utilised of these facilities and widely available to the public. It is the only such facility in the northern sector of the city and one of six all-weather athletics tracks across Auckland, serving over 400,000 people across the region.

The newly resurfaced track, with a lifespan of over twelve years, has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm. The North Harbour Bays Athletics Club hosted their national 'Night of Fives' event, featuring several Olympians, to celebrate the reopening. The track has been bustling with activity ever since, with feedback from the public and athletes praising the improved surface.

People, Culture and Sustainability Manager, Louise Rich, said “We are very grateful to the Bobby Foundation for their support of this important community project”.

The Bobby Foundation is proud to improve the odds for community sports.
